Breakfast can be a bit of a challenge when you’re living the raw/paleo/primal lifestyle, especially during the week. It’s tough to whip up an omelette when you’re already late for work and the dog still needs to be walked. The paleo coffee almond smoothie is a time-saving answer for those times when you just need some breakfast, fast.

It’s definitely not as sweet as most fruit smoothies out there (which I personally enjoy) and it contains two of my favorite things- cacao and coffee. Just dump all the ingredients in a blender, mix, and get on with your day.

How To Make the Paleo Coffee Almond Smoothie

Ingredients

1 ripe banana

2 tbsp almond butter

1 tbsp cacao powder

2 heaping tsp quality instant coffee

1 cup almond milk

1 handful of ice (approx 1 cup)

1 scoop protein powder

1 tbsp chia seeds

Process

Combine all ingredients except the chia seeds in a blender and mix well. Stir in chia seeds and enjoy.
